I'm lazy. What else can I say? So the next few posts are going to be about things that I should have documented months ago.
So for starters I will tell you about a very memorable concert experience I had back in April. Tuesday April 21, 2009 to be exact. My day started out like any other. I was barely on time for work and I had skipped breakfast. I am a Special Ed. teacher so my day is filled with teaching life skills, dodging thrown objects, hugs, dodging thrown objects, making popcorn, dodging thrown objects, drawing pictures, and of course dodging thrown objects.
So of all the days to have some delayed reflexes this was the one. One of my students was in a bad mood and clocked me right in the right eye with a kitchen timer from approximately 5 ft. away. I never saw it coming. I didn't even know that the student was holding it to begin with. He has big hands!
After I'm hit all I can think of is"Tonight is Ladytron! I must SEE Ladytron!" Never mind any of the really important stuff one has to be able to do with sight. ..like look at my family.
Anyways after an hour of filling out paperwork, seeing the school nurse (it felt cool to cut in line), and filling out more paper work I was able to return back to work...paranoid.
But I was able to make it to the concert along with my brother in law, Aaron. Ladytron was awesome just as I had expected. After the show I was able to grab a set list that was nearly stolen by some pale thin girl with heavy black eyeliner. She was strong!
Then they announced that the band would be hanging out at a club called the Beauty Bar. I was ready to call it a night but Aaron thought we should try to meet them so we went. The only thing was it was a 21 and older club so Aaron had to wait out side while I attempted to find Ladytron's four members. He was cool with it but it was kind of funny to look outside every once in a while and see him standing on the other side of the gate by himself or with the occasional scary looking homeless person.
It was worth the 2 hour wait. I was able to meet and get the autographs of three of the four members and i was a little thrown off because of how nice they were. They were so easy to talk to that I didn't know what to say. I started feeling awkward thinking to myself, "Hey, shouldn't you be a little more "Rockstar" distant to your fans?"
I felt like I could have invited them over for Sunday dinner and they would have accepted. For that I will always be fans of this group and you should too. They are nice folks.
These guys actully smile from time to time.
